Diego, I also want to add that one of the great things about SP is that I can learn about and appreciate mountains I that I have never heard of. Thanks again for adopting this page and allowing me to learn something about this mountain.

Overall good page,

Good use some minor updating though. Has been lots of change and development in this area over the last 2 years.

Cheers,
Clint.

Re: Overall good page,

Why don't you add those changes and development? You've came from there so probably you are one of the most Toubkal informed members in SP already.

Gracias Clint.

Re: Overall good page,

Would like to, although i have a lot of unfinished work which i'm clearing out on my own pages right now. Should take a day or two, three when i'm through that. I'll let you know.

BTW, how did you manage to vote 10/10 on your own page??? That's probably more against the rules than me posting a picture mooning on a summit :P :P :P

Cheers,
Clint.

Huts

Hi Diego - be really good to update your info on the huts, I had someone contact me to say that they could not use stoves at the hut - unlike you had stated.

Re: Huts

Well, I've stated that in the old Nelner Refuge. Are you saying that you can't use a stove if paying in Neltner hut?

Re: Huts

You can use the stoves that are provided in the CAF hut, and pay for the privilege. However, you cannot use your own personal stove. The same goes for the Mouflon hut. Have a quick look at my page on the huts, they are not that complete as yet, but give an idea.

Re: Huts

Matt, I've corrected it in my page but I hope SPers read your page if they are really interested in Toubkal huts. Anyway, thanks for your help

Re: Huts

yeh - no problem. Good to get as much info out there about the Atlas, as very few people get to see these great mountains. All the best.

Toubkal NE face

Boris - just saw your post there. As of 1942(!) it hadn't been climbed - certainly in winter as mention is made of the potentially numerous routes up from Tisseldai by Lepiney & Mailly in their topo guide. Since then there have been a number of notables doing routes in the High Atlas incl Toubkal - namely Michel Peyron and Hamish Brown. Neither of these gents use SP!(!) so you'd need to contact them to see if they know of any winter routes up from Tisseldai.

Jan 2012

Just got back from 3 nights in the Mouflon, lower , refuge. Lounge was always 21.c or more apart from breakfast when it was around 13.c. the rest of the refuge was 5.c apart from bedrooms which were +3.c. The condensation freezes on the inside of the windows overnight but I was fine in an Alpkit 400 down bag rated -3.c. There are big heavy blankets and I reckon you`d manage with a bag liner if you wanted to save weight and not take a sleeping bag. The shop is well stocked with water and snacks at reasonable prices. Outside temp was -6.c on the night I measured it. They had running water at 1 sink and a western toilet . The toilet had to be flushed by filling a bucket at a tap in an adjacent cubicle but it wasnt a big deal. Showers were available but had to be prebooked as the guides have to move the gas bottles from the Kitchen to the showers to heat the water ! We didnt take a stove as we went half board at £23 per night. Food was excellent and mint tea was non stop! If anyone wants any up to date info please ask.

Toubkal guides

Hi, I heard that you now have to hire a guide on Toubkal. Is this true?
