Jean Peak and Marion Mountain.

This May 1, 2012 photo shows the conditions from San Jacinto to Jean Peak and Marion Mountain. Lot of snow up there still. It was somewhat solid on the approach in the morning, though once things heated up it got messy. I should have toted snowshoes for this one instead of my axe and crampons. Waist deep post hole action in some places! I'd planned on Jean Peak but bailed on it and did Drury Peak instead, as it seemed more direct and in-line with an alternate descent to Little Round Valley below.
