Jim of Western Montana Search and Rescue leading two friends off the summit (back to the Hogsback) on July 1, 2001. This was the first snow climbing these other two had ever done, with the exception of some practice near the parking lot the evening before. That snow picket, rope, and other gear would become essential in the rescue we would be participating in a short while later.
