Johnathan Gordon holds the rock that broke my leg, while we contemplate how to get me 1700' down the overhanging wall. I'm smiling from codeine. Always bring an inflatable splint with you ( you just never know ). Photo by Dave Davies

Re: Rock Me No Likey!

I got stoned 2 ways ( one good, one very bad ). Your helmet would tilt too!

Re: Rock Me No Likey!

Cool... how did you manage to get your pics in there? By chance or friends with the author?

How did you finally get down? Could you rap with a broken leg?

Re: Rock Me No Likey!

Since that book was published in the UK, I believe Dave Davies put those pictures in there. I didn't know I was even in a book until my ex - wife sent me a copy! Yes, I rapped / was lowered - read the trip report for more details.

Looks familiar?

Didn't I see your picture in a rock climbing instructional book? Seems like I remember seeing this same pic in the rescue section of a climbing "how to" book.

Re: Looks familiar?

You're correct. I totally forgot about that. It's on page 149 of " The Climbers Handbook ". There's another picture of me on page 141, 2 shots of the snow cave on 136 and a couple of others. My ex - wife saw it one day in a Costco in Seattle and sent it to me. The caption is wrong though - that was an inflatable splint, not a mattress!
