Beautiful hike - Jones Mountain and Jones Mountain North
Hiked Jones Mountain first. It was steep from the saddle above Ptarmigan Lake. After that is was a straightforward hike with some minor scramble down to the saddle below the North summit. A coyote looked at me from below the saddle. I descended longer than I thought back to the trail. 9 miles and 3 hours 56 minutes of hiking.

Smoky loop
Looped Emma Burr, Kreutzer, "Chalk Rock," and Jones B on a day when smoke from the CA wildfire was pretty bad.
Since Cottonwood pas is closed this year, easy access available from Cottonwood Lake. Nice and easy hike, some nice views of Sawatch Range.

Not a bad climb. There was a lot of snow on the summitt. It was a hard climb the last couple hundred feet or so..

Aug 24, 2008: Long loop route starting with PT 12900B and then traversing to Emma Burr, Kreutzer, "Chalk Rock" and finishing on Jones B. Considered adding Jones North but the clouds started building, good call as it started raining 20 minutes after I got back to my car!
July 14, 2012: Climbed Gladstone Ridge with both of Jones' summits from Ptarmigan Lake, nice quick hike on a day when the weather was iffy but it held through the morning nicely!
Oct 1, 2017: Jones and Chalk Rock this time, With Rachael from the road split off 344. New fall snow and a lot of cold wind on the divide so we decided to stop at the two peaks. A nice quick morning outing.
