Nice perch  Sucess!

The same winter storms that brought a profusion of flowers to the trail also damaged the catwalk enough to close it to visitors. Oh well. Views were still great, especially of afternoon storms forming over Mineral King.

With PK 9236  Sucess!

It took about 1:40 to drive up from Porterville in the morning - this late in the year I was worried about the weather but I was in 50-60 degree weather all day. The roads leading in were in good shape, although once leaving the pavement I would not have wanted to drive on the dirt roads if they were wet. I parked at a large turnout, plenty of room for multiple vehicles and headed up an unmarked but still in service road that took me up towards Jordan Peak. There is a trail near the summit which leaves the road or you can follow the road to the top. The lookout was closed when I arrived, probably for the season. I then went through easy cross country forest to summit PK 9236. I half expected a register but didn't find one.

Short hike  Sucess!

I was in the area to tag a handful of easy summits. The ranger wasn't ready to receive visitors. Trip Report.

From Trilogy Rock  Sucess!

A really great view. Better than expected. It's only a mile from Trilogy Rock (Macintire Rock) and it's well worth the effort. About two miles from the Click Creek trailhead.

Nice drive  Sucess!

Couldn't get up in the tower because we arrived too late and the forest service employee was in her jammies.

Drive up  Sucess!

Drove to within 25' of the summit and walked the rest of the way. The final road, generally closed to the public, was open because the gate was broken. Nice ranger at the top, but we came too late to go up to the catwalk.

Nice hike  Sucess!

Parked at the Click Creek trailhead, and walked along the road and trail to the summit. A short hike (but a long drive), but with some nice views at the top--a very good view of Moses and Maggie in particular.

A wandering hike  Sucess!

With Greg. I can't remember where we parked exactly but it wasn't at the trailhead. We wandered up and along a ridge for a little while. I was recovering from a knee injury at the time.
