A "Jump Move" on the East Face of Mount Wilbur.
(Seemed like a good idea at the time!)

Hasn't voted | Thats a wild pic and from that angle almost looks like you are jumping to your death. -Tim- | | Posted Apr 21, 2003 11:17 pm |

Actually the landing was a quite spacious ledge. It was just easier to hop off a short traverse to the ledge than to do the fine moves required to get there. | | Posted Apr 24, 2003 6:25 am |

Hasn't voted | Yeah Fred, but you're spoiling your image and disillusioning me! You're the original mountain stud, man! At least this pic makes a good case for it (OK-I love pictures that stretch the truth). | | Posted May 14, 2003 10:09 pm |

Voted 10/10 | It seems like there is a ledge 2 or 2.50 m below where he took off. As well one of you could have helped him by putting your shoulders. Did he landed well? Did he injure himself?
By the way, I've done a similar move wearing crampons and landing on a steep hard snow patch | | Posted Apr 27, 2008 7:03 pm |

Voted 10/10 | I used to do stuff like that with an external frame Kelty Tioga but I got out of that habit very quickly. | | Posted Aug 23, 2006 9:46 pm |

Voted 10/10 | Fred, read my comment above.
Thanks | | Posted Apr 28, 2008 9:04 pm |

Hasn't voted | There was no large ledge to cross on.
As stated the landing spot was large and safe.
There was no need to "help" anyone. | | Posted Apr 29, 2008 9:04 am |

Voted 10/10 | I asked if he injured himself because you seemed doubtful about the jump idea ("seemed like a good idea at the time! Smart?") | | Posted May 1, 2008 10:34 am |
