Just a bit of Fish's Tail

Just a bit of Fish's Tail

As today we mostly watch photos on a computer screen (to my grief disappoitment), when taking pictures, I usually remember to frame horizontally. However, here there was no other way than to compose it vertically, which adds to the rather dramatic effect and "highs-up" the grandiose Macha, which, as you all know, is not as high as it looks ;-) Photo taken from Tadapani, thanks to one of the Gurungs who kicked my ass out from one of the teahouses where I was eating thinking, that there is going to be nothing interesting for a photographer that evening. The Gurung had seen me in earlier locations taking pictures with my "giant" lens so he thought [right] I would be interested. I was. ;-) By the way, in my opinion, autumn sunsets in the Himalayas are way better (mostly because of the shadowplay of the clouds around six pm)from the rather boring and too-clean sunrises. So, let yourself sleep sound in the morning when in Nepal or Tibet hee hee... ;-) Nikon D90 + Nikkor 70-300 VR (plus my favorite spot light metering, no fiddling with any graphics, I strongly disapprove of it) Handheld. There is so much light in the Himalayas than even for consumer-class DX lenses f.e. Nikkor 16-85 VR or my favorite Nikkor 70-300 VR that it is possible to take handheld photos even early in the morning or late in the evenings.
