South Ridge  Sucess!

Hiked the south ridge route from Bighorn Creek with Gurlyclimber. Capped a nice long weekend of Gore climbing! Fun exposed 3rd class if you stay on the ridge crest, some of it can be bypassed on the east if not to your liking.

South Ridge  Sucess!

Hiked with chicagotransplant. Looks like the Indian Peaks maybe taking a back seat to the Gores for me for a while. Loved the place.

East Ridge  Sucess!

Kurt, Chris and I climbed the East Ridge and descended by the south slopes. Views from the summit are outstanding. The crux is something else. We were scouting this as a possible Summit Seniors Mtn Goat hike. We would lose a lot of friends. We saw two other climbers following us.

East Ridge, descent via South Slopes  Sucess!

My wife and I climbed Keller with a couple of friends via its East Ridge on a soggy day. The wet rock made this third-class scramble more interesting. We descended Keller's south slopes, passing Lake 11,660 before entering upper North Rock Creek's meadows. From there we enjoyed a breathtaking bushwhack back to the trailhead -- one of the most beautiful hikes I've been on! The Gore Range is definitely something special, and I'm looking forward to coming back. A trip report is available here.

East Ridge  Sucess!

Fantastic! Descended the south slopes to avoid being on the ridge during afternoon thunderstorms and endured a bushwhack back to the car.

Route Climbed: Rock Creek-South face Date Climbed: October 2005  Sucess!

Started out as simply a hike, turned into a scramble to the top. The views of the Grand Traverse are staggering and enticing. Someday...
