| This was a really short trip. I had seen the tower from the highway before, and it seemed like the perfect day to go check it out. I'll admit, I cheated and parked at the Boy Scout Monument. My son and I took the trail from there that headed uphill, and were quickly at the summit restaurant. Unfortunately the tower was closed. I don't know if it was because it's the middle of winter, or if the restaurant was closed. The only hazards encountered on this trip were the mud and snow. If I do this again, I will park near the hut at the base, and try to spiral up the mountain to make it a longer walk. I will also make sure to bring some Euros for beer and schnitzel at the summit. |
