Date Climbed: Aug 7, 2010

Would be great views of the Pioneer Range on a clear day. Could barely make out Smoky Dome, but still a nice little ridge run once you make it. Came up from Red Elephant Mine, quick round trip. This is the mountain that is square in front of you when you drive north up Blue Lakes Boulevard in Twin Falls.

Super Dave

Made a nice snowshoe loop highlighted by Kelly Mountain. This one caught our attention from Johnstone Peak a couple months ago, it really dominates the southern Smokies. Cool views of the Camas Prairie. Here’s a trip-report and some photos.

SuperDave and I started on snow from the turnaround on Croy Canyon road. From the summit, we followed the ridge north and descended past the Red Elephant mines and over Point 7536. Beautiful day. ~7.5 hours.
