That's quite a grunt of a day hike!. More than Whitney.
Did you day hiked it. If so you musta been bushed after. Although trail hiking is so much easier.
I thought about doing something on that divide years ago when I hiked Lookout Peak. Glad you did the M&R so we can see what it's like up there.
It was a haul... Almost day hiked, but not quite. Backpacked in to Frypan Meadow, set up camp, and continued on to the summit. So something like 15 miles and 7,000+ feet on day one, then I hiked Mt. Harrington and out the next day. Trail hiking is easier, though I had snow from 9,000 ft on up. Made it a little harder going up and a LOT easier coming down.
Ha! I doubt it. Only if they go light. The past couple years I've learned to cut back to make trips like this possible, if I remember correctly my pack was in the 24 pound range, with ax and crampons.
This peak isn't very high by Sierra standards, but the quality of the summit view is probably better than a lot of the higher more prominent peaks that attract most Sierra climbers. Your page does a great job of highlighting this and other important attributes of this fine peak.
Thanks so much boyblue. Appreciate it. I could not agree with you more too! This year I happened to go up Kennedy, Harrington, and Goat Mtn and was extremely pleased with all of them. I think all three are underrated and as you say the views on them are excellent.

Re: NiceYou bet! They kept 120 closed a day later than I wanted and this is what I found. Wasn't staying home for certain.
