It's totally wrong that Khan Tengri is located at the junction point between China, Kirgiztan and Khazakstan. In fact K.T. is located on the Kirgiz/Khazak border, Chinese border is about 20 km away.

It is absolutely not recommended to travel there via China /Urumqi.

Dear dear Christian Walter, a few days ago I have adopted the Khan Tengri page and by now have finished updating the page.

You have a two star vote on this mountain page, (Which was even leniant, given the very poor quality and the non-maintance for the last years), I hope you can revisit the page now and take into consideration updating your vote.

Re: Untitled Comment

A few years ago the Kyrgyzstan-China border was changed. Now it is the stright line from Khan Tengry to Aktau peak (south from KT) and further along the Aktau ridge to Kokshaal-tau ridge. So, now Khan Tengry is REALLY located at the junction point of 3 states!
The best way to climb Khan Tengry is from Kyrgyzstan.

Hello Gordon, Thank you for the zero vote on the Khan Tengri page, - Probably not so often that one gets thanks for a zero vote! - It helped greatly to bring the adoption about. As I started the discussion and know the mountain quite well, I have decided to adopt it myself. I have already started work on it, but being such a major and thoroughly known peak, it will need a lot of information and adding it will take a week or so.

Thanks a lot for the vote and your suggestions. It is a good idea to split up large chapters in delineated paragraphs, I will work on that.
