| Did the 4 mile kilauea iki trail which brings you down into a dead crater and across the floor. Very different terrain. We also did some other short hikes and went through a lava tube. The crater rim drive was closed while we were there due to sulfur gas. | ||

| Many hikes through the park. Simply amazing. Must hike to the active vent next time. We watched the fire glow into the ocean. Beautiful | ||

| Fun to see all the volcanic activity going on in Volcano National. Saw a school of children with their teachers doing a ceremony to Pele. Was pretty special to witness this cultural tradition. | ||

| Visited this after being snowed off Mauna Loa. At least we got to hike through a lava tube. Couldn't see anything else due to the fog and cloud. | ||

| Had a great time here at Volcanoes National Park. Kilauea is awesome! Part of the park is still closed due to the eruption of the Halema'uma'a crater within Kilaeua Caldera. Also, the lava that flows into the ocean has moved towards the city of Kalapana and it's no longer on national park property. That was a bummer since the county wouldn't let us any closer than half a mile. It was an awesome time. I stayed in a cottage at the Kilauea Military Camp. Not too shabby and located right in the park. | ||

| Wow. I spent many days here, doing A LOT of things. Some parts of the park were closed, due to an active vent in the Halema'uma'a crater, but still I saw and did so much stuff here. I stayed in Volcano Village, so it was very convenient. You'll never forget your time here. | ||

| Spent all night out there. On the way back got caught in a sideways rain shower. As the sun was rising a perfect end to end rainbow appeared. The Big Island rocks! Also now hooked on Royal Kona Honey Macadamia Nut coffee. | ||

| Went through the Thurston lava tube before inspecting the Holeil sea arch. Ventured out onto the lava field that crosses the road and found flowing lava after 2 miles. The flow enters the ocean a mile farther, but had to turn back. Don't trip and scrape a knee or fall down. Hardened lava cuts like glass. An amazing, unforgettable hike. | ||

| I loved this place. The crater was amazing. Too bad it is no longer the massive lava lake that Mark Twain saw when he visited. I did the Thurston Lava Tube, Hiked the Crater, and went down the Chain of Craters road to see the lava flows. An unforgetable experience! | ||

| Hiked part of the Kilauea Iki trail and visited Thurston Lava Tube. Did the usual tourist stuff (driving along Crater Rim Drive and stopping at all the highlights). Hiked to the Halema`uma`u overlook. Checked out Jaggar Museum. Later, drove down to the coast on Chain of Craters Road to see lava (didn't see anything; only saw the steam plume at the shore). Visited Pu`u Loa petroglyphs on the way there. | ||
