Route Climbed: Henry's Fork Date Climbed: 8/26/95  Sucess!

Excellent three day trip to Henrys Fork and Kings Peak. First day hiked eight miles to camp near Dollar Lake. Second day hiked past some moose up to Gunsight Pass, down into Painter Basin, and back to Anderson Pass and the peak. Didn't stay long due to storm clouds rolling in...busy peak, but I had the summit to myself. Back to camp (13 mile day)...3rd day was eight mile hike out...wonderful scenery and a classic hike.

Route Climbed: Henry Fork TH Date Climbed: Summer, 1999  Sucess!

We did this as a backpack with at that time 78-yr-old Bob Martin, who was working on Utah county and state high points. Bob had sustained injuries earlier that year, so was thrilled to find out he could still do a backpack. After a pleasant pack in from Henry's Fork TH, the 4 of us camped at Dollar Lake. Didn't stay long on the peak due to threatening clouds gathering.

Route Climbed: Henrys Fork approach Date Climbed: September 7, 1994  Sucess!

I was joined by my friend Duane and my father, who was then almost 80 years old. He had no illusions of going to the summit, but was anxious to enjoy a vigorous hike in the high wilderness. He turned around at about the 11 mile point for a 22-mile round trip. Duane and I approached via Gunsight Pass, taking the cross-country shortcut to Anderson Pass, then south up the summit ridge of Kings Peak. We completed the 28.8 mile round-trip hike after 1 AM the next morning. It was the longest day hike I have ever experienced, and a very enjoyable one at that.
