Kit Carson from Challenger Ridge

Kit Carson from Challenger Ridge
Rapidly forming thermal activity causes clouds to literally race to the sky and mountain climbers to literally bound off from the summit of Kit Carson. SP member mtnhiker13 races along the Challenger Ridge in a quick descent off the mountain beneath dooming skies. We climbed the mountain from Willow Lake in 3 hours and were back to that spot in 90 minutes from the summit. Pretty good for "older" folks! If the picture looks scary, it was indeed a scary situation, yet we were granted a reprieve and it actually cleared off for a bit before raining and hailing in light fashion during our descent down the Willow Creek drainage. We did this long day (13 miles and 6,300 feet of gain) in 13 hours.
