Short walk, big vista
Such an incredible view down into Bear Creek Canyon. The marine layer was coming in, obscuring the entire city and giving everything a very Himalayan feel.

Nice views for minimal effort. Walked up past the picnic area to the bench, then went west toward chair lift.

The "mountain" itself is unimpressive, but the views from the top were sublime, and I saw no one else on a busy hiking day in early August, so this little summit is a good one to bag for those looking for some nice scenery and solitude.

Vista Picnic Area
Great views south, parts of the ridge are covered in red flame retardant from a small fire that broke out there earlier this year.

From Vista Picnic Area
Followed the standard HPS route from the Vista Picnic Area. This was my final peak after tackling a trio of Hawkins from Windy Gap. Weather was simply superb!

A quick hike after climbing Williamson, Goodykoontz, Pallett, Will Thrall, and Pleasant View Ridge from Islip Saddle in the morning.
Seeing the remains of the old resort is kind of fun. Nice views from the peak.

Decided at the last minute to get out of the house and go do something before tomorrow's storm arrives. Perfect afternoon for some snowshoeing up to Kratka Ridge.

Nice Views
Combined with Winston Peak/Ridge and Akawie Peak. Nice views. Came down under the chairlift, that was fun. Here are my GPS tracks.
