Shirley Peak 08-09-2009The dense trees and undergrowth make this a fantastic place for hiking. 08-09-2009

I made my first ascent of Shirley Peak on August, 9th, 2009. One could probably drive up the road almost to the peak, but it's really nice to hike there. This hike is only 1 mile RT. The parking area is at 6770' and the elevation gain is 321 feet. The elevation of Shirley Peak is 7091'. I should have done Cooks Peak also, but I didn't think of it at the time.
