Didn't Drive  Sucess!

Did the route from Cheaha Lake ( Elev 1264 ft), The Lake Trail which begins by the bath house. Trail follows along stream then climbs the hill and into the rock fall which requires some scrambling. Started in misty rain so could see little of the surrounding mountains.
Did road walk from upper trailhead. Weather cleared so could see surroundings from the tower.
Headed back down and got more good views from the trail. Yes, it was humid. One hour 15 mins up, about an hour down. Elevation gain 1,141 feet. Saw no one on trail, nobody at summit except park employee working on a water line.

Fun times  Sucess!

Steep little trail. Had all to myself.

Fun  Sucess!

Great trail; needs tons of trailwork. It was likely built by the CCC-- they didn't cut many switchbacks and they often went straight up when confronted with steep inclines. Really makes for a fun outing in a fairly tame and developed area.

Awesome  Sucess!

The Rock Garden was spectacular. I got to climb it as well and do some other stuff. The route is very tiring.

Good Stuff  Sucess!

Climbed with my brother from Cheaha Lake. The rock garden was simply stunningly beautiful and we had great weather from there. Surprisingly gorgeous and mountainous for Alabama.
