Larry Laverty, March 6, 2013, just beneathe Point 10005 in the Mt. Rose Wilderness. Without snowshoes, post holed most of the time past the knees, paralleling the Southeast Ridge route for four hours straight only to run into a patch of solid ice. Determination or stupidity to have gone this far in, I'm never sure. But the trip was memorable and having the Mt. Rose Wilderness to myself this winter day was worth it.
