Route Climbed: La Carbonera starting at Los Aromos Ranch Date Climbed: March 13, 2005
We got surprised that on prior days(March 9th), they had snow, we started at 8:00am and reached summit at 11:40am it took us 3 hrs and 40 mins and 2 hrs and 15 mins to go down.
We could see "El Morro" completely snowed, I showed the photo on the main page.
The temperature was on the start about 7 to 9 celsius degrees and about 23 celcius degrees on the summit.
Made it to the summit alone in 3:15 after stopping several times due to my friend`s blistering feet (wich eventually kept him from making it to the forest) on a cold and clowdy day. The temperature was -5ºC @ 10:00 A.M. on the summit and the trees were covered with rime ice, something I`ve never experienced on this mountain.
Once back at the valley the clouds lifted and we had a nice view of the iced up forest on the upper reaches.

Parked our truck at a ranch called "Los Aromos", camped at the base for the night. We had just climbed La Martha, another peak not far from Las Nieves, that same day. The night was cool and rainy. At seven o'clock AM we started climbing. After an hour of hiking up among brush and wet rocks, we entered a very nice, heavily forested area. Summited after four hours of moderately inclined terrain, maybe about 35 degrees. There was a lot of granular snow on the path, more on the shadow. From the summit you can see rows of mountains and valleys, as far as you can see. This time all the guys from our team, Camaleonex, made the summit.

Normal Route. But I haven't seen Nieve on it!This mountain has an amazing forest at the top. Went there with Trepacerros last year and we might go again this weekend in the look for snow! ha!

Route Climbed: Normal (north) Date Climbed: December-2000We started climbing in foggy conditions down at the valley, then it got chilly and blustery on the summit; there was very little snow there.
