| Nice view; there had to be more butterflies on this peak that day than in all the world combined... this was the strangest thing I've ever seen. I'd say that this mountain would make a better spring snow climb as the trail was really crowded and unbearably easy. | ||

| It was great to feel on top of the world when we reached the peak and to relive old times by hiking Lassen with my brother for the first time in years. I have done this hike several times, but always enjoy it. | ||

| What a cloudy, rainy and snowy day. Wish I could have actually seen this cool little mountain. The park is really beautiful with lots of snow, way more snow than we have had in the Oregon Cascades this year. Didn't follow the trail at all, in fact I couldn't even see it. Went straight up the moderately steep snow slope, through some loose boulder fields and finally scrambled on some really cool 3rd class rock below the summit. Nice mixed snow climb with some non-exposed scrambling. Cool summit rock features with a strange looking tower at the top. Ran and glissaded all the way back down for a round trip time of 3 hours. Lassen proved to be a worthwhile side trip on my way to Mt. Shasta. I highly recommend you climb this peak early season on snow which is way more interesting than any tourist trail!! | ||

| Route Climbed: South Face/Trail Date Climbed: June 10, 2004 Date Signed: June 15, 2004 01:13 AM Very windy and cold on the summit ridge. Fun glissade down. A family of four on their way back down the route were the only people we saw all day. Climbed with Cornvallis for his birthday. | ||

| It was good fun. Was about 15-20 ft short of the summit. So, technically speaking it's not done yet. | ||

| Hiked with socalmtneer. Started at Bumpass Hell trailhead as that's how far the road was open to on 5/27/05. Up and down in about 3 hours. We literally had to run down from the summit to flee the thunderstorm & lightning (my ice axe was humming due to electrical build up). We headed next to Mt. McLoughlin. | ||

| A nice solo morning hike on a crystal-clear day. Good views & preview of Shasta which I planned to hike the following month. A wonderful 70-degree retreat from 104-degree Red Bluff (45-minute drive away) where I lived at the time. | ||

| Superb skimountaineering trip. We were me, "il Marantz" and "il Paglia". Fantastic weather, only too much wind. Snow unforgettable: we start ski directely from the iron tower of the top. We slept in tent in Devastated Area. Third trip of our American tour from Europe to ski volcanous. | ||

| Did this hike in the winter of 1997. I don't remember the route we took. We had great weather the day we were there. Long hike in, and a long hike out. We did not see a soul! | ||
