This was my only time up Lassen, ten years ago. Did it with some friends, had a great time, must be the easiest 10,000 foot peak to climb in the states.

SE Ridge TH
This was a warmup for my brother-in-law and I before we headed up Mt Shasta the next day. There was still snow to traverse but no real problems. It was socked in on top, but intermittently there were views to be had.

Annual ski trip
Try to get up here every spring... a truly great ski peak.
Short and sweet. Lots of people at the summit, but lots of room to share the amazing views. A trip to Bumpass added the finishing touch this great day.
This was an easy climb that was supposed to be a warmup for my Shasta adventure.
I don't remember the exact climbing date.

20 June 2010 - Northeast Face
Started at the road closure at the Devastated Area and proceeded up the Northeast Face. Top 2000' made for fun skiing, lots of suncups below that.
14 August 2009 - Lassen Trail
Hiked the normal trail, 1:40 round trip. Apparently it was closed since a couple people got hit by rockfall a few weeks before, one person dying. Didn't see any rocks falling that day.

Multiple offender
My third trip up here, last time was with my then soon to be fiancee, now wife. Guess it was sort of a 'dating interview' climb to see if she enjoyed the outdoors as much as me, she passed the test! Had fun snow skating down.
Nice late afternoon hike with some clouds to add interest. Finished by 6:30 and headed to Manzanita Lake to camp at a very nice site.

4 hour roundtrip from the Bumpass Hell parking Lot. Hard snow up, slush ice glisading down. Nice and warm day

Warm up Climb
Summited with SPer's Forjan & Mdostby. We did this as a warm up climb for Shasta's Casaval Ridge. Beautiful day with only a few other climbers. Summited in 2 hours, hung out on the summit for about a half hour and took about an hour to get down.

North Ridge with NE Face Ski Descent
Awesome! Left the Crags campsite at 5:30 and started up from the Devastated Area at around 6AM. Surprisingly good snow conditions except in a few areas close to the summit. Got to the top at around 10:30 and switched to ski boots for the incredible descent back to the car. What a day! My first route as a Californian.

CHAOS Beginner Mountaineering Clinic - SE Ridge
Spent two nights in the snow beneath this peak teaching some members of the Cal Hiking and Outdoor Society (CHAOS) basic winter mountaineering skills from climbing and beacon searches to snow shelter construction. We topped it off with a nice snow climb of the SE Ridge of the peak.

Last Cascade volcanoMy last Cascade volcano. The drive from Portland was much longer than the climb, but a fun time was had. The park is like a mini Yellowstone.
