Late sun at Muztagh Ata | [ Sizes: Orig | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Camping near the Karakoram Highway, close to the Tajik border. The sun is about to set and the light is very soft and nice. The peaks in the background are Kuksay to the left and Muztagh Ata in the center. On the right you can see the lower slopes of Koskulak.
All three peaks are over 7000 meters and belong to the Kunlun Shan in China. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | tallabomba | Good shot, good memories | |

Hasn't voted | It was a dream camp, no doubt. The weather was exceptionally good as well. | | Posted Dec 21, 2006 7:06 pm |

Hasn't voted | Very relaxed. We had an incident though. A guy told us we camped too close to the Tajik border and had to move the whole camp about 2km. It was late, we had the camp set, so we stayed where we were. | | Posted Dec 22, 2006 10:53 am |

I was in the same spot three days ago. Not as good weather as in the photo, but the three giants (Kuksay, Muztagh Ata and Koskulak) were as impressive as always. | | Posted Aug 16, 2007 1:02 pm |

Voted 10/10 | But I must confess it is really hard to imagine the token Westerner adequately assimilating into such a scene. We simply don't have the endless dramatic landscapes dotting our horizons. ...Simply can't imagine it--then again, you parlaid your skills and experience to be able to sample such grandeur. Congrats on the photo and the mind bending journey! | | Posted Nov 10, 2011 7:46 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for the comment. When looking at this photo again after some years I can still recall the warm sun and the nice meal we had in that beautiful camp site. | | Posted Nov 14, 2011 10:40 pm |
