You are right that you can't see the summit of Lawson Peak in this image, but it is not a sub-peak further north. It is looking up the west ridge of Lawson Peak from the drainage of lake 11,634ft at ~11,100ft elevation. Maybe it is a sub-summit to the west, but the map does not indicate any such feature on the ridge.
