Final one of the Sky Lakes Traverse Date Climbed: Aug 23, 2014
Some challenges on the traverse over. Steep scree in spots. I incorrectly tried to scramble up the west side of the summit. It's nothing but very loose licheny junk. Avoid this. Scramble down a little lower on the east side past the summit and then up to the ridge and come back. Couple Class 3 moves to the top. Be careful on the scree, everything is loose. Trust nothing, not even the big rocks. Headed back to the PCT and caught a few photos of the helicopters dipping into the Seven Lakes to take water over to douse on the wildfire. Was neat to watch. Smelling the smoke though now. Headed out, happy to get all 5 peaks in today.
