Overview

The Kilimanjaro trek Lemosho route to climb Mt Kilimanjaro is one of the newer routes but is regarded as one of the best routes to climb Kilimanjaro. The views that can be seen during the climb are excellent and showcase the different sides of the mountain. It also has less hiking traffic given that Machame route is more popular and also much older. The acclimatization profile is very suitable for a high altitude climb, with "climb high sleep low" characteristics that enables the body to adjust to the rarefied atmosphere during the climb. The incline is also not as high as in Machame route, making it somewhat easier. This is one of the reasons why Lemosho has a very high summit success rate.

Getting There

From Moshi one must drive 2 hrs to the trail head at Londorossi Gate, situated on the western side of Mt Kilimanjaro. This part of Kilimanjaro is still very wild and encountering wild animals is not uncommon.
