Licorice-fern (Polypodium glycyrrhiza)
Licorice-fern is common on tree trunks, rocks and along streams in the warm, wet coastal forests from Alaska to California. There are two known occurrences in Idaho where warm, wet forests mimic maritime habitats and support a number of disjunct coastal species. This photo is of one of these occurrences in the North Fork Clearwater basin of north-central Idaho.
