Limber Pine | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
Close-up of a beautiful Limber Pine near the summit of Mount Baden-Powell. You can nicely see the 5 needles per sheath. July 6, 2008 Comments[ Post a Comment ] | lcarreau | It never fails ... | |
Voted 10/10 | I always get this one mixed up with White pines
and Jeffery pines. The one that stands out the
most is the Western Yellow pine; at least here
in Arizona. I love the new growth on these guys! And nothing can beat the smell of them! | | Posted Jul 8, 2008 5:46 pm |

Hasn't voted | thanks. Well, I am certainly not an expert and I try to keep it simple. In our local mountains you see many lodgepole (2 needles), jeffrey (3 needles), sugar and limber pines (both with 5 needles). There are of course some others but for those I have to consult my field guide....Cheers | | Posted Jul 8, 2008 5:57 pm |
