| Gorgeous views! Original plan was to hike from Lake McDonald to St. Mary then catch the shuttle back. The past winter's snow killed my plans. Instead we opted for some single night hikes ending with a night of winter camping at Sperry campground. Set up camp and cruises up to the summit in about 35 minutes. Glad I did because that gave me the best views of the park that I had seen to that point. Lake Ellen Wilson was still mostly frozen and it looked like a winter wonder land all around the back side of Lincoln Pass. Looking forward to going back and climbing some more challenging peaks! | |

| 2010 Aug Beautiful sunny day. I hiked solo and had lunch at the Sperry Chalet cafeteria after the hike. They had 3 kinds of freshly baked bread! 2011 April 9 with GMS. Shortly after the Crystal Ford we snow shoed off trail across Sprague Creek and straight up to the ridge top and had a 2 mile ridge walk. Whoa was it incredible! We didn't summit due to a dicey area near the final easy push to the top. With less snow, we would have made it. Too much avalanche danger. | |

| Went with a large group for this winter ascent. We split in to two groups. Half approached the normal route via Sperry and Lincoln Pass. The other half crossed Sprague creek early and attained the ridge then climbed the South West side. | |

| My roomate Logan was on the Sperry trailcrew and I headed up to visit him for a weekend off of my job on another crew in West. We did the quick jaunt from the trails cabin up to the summit with headlamps in tow for a sunset of epic proportions. (date climbed estimated) | |
