Linville Falls from Plunge Basin

Linville Falls from Plunge Basin

Walking on some ever-narrower ledges gets you closer and closer, yielding a perspective not too many others ever get to experience. Blue Ridge Parkway, NC-- March 2010

Thanks for the Ideas and Memories!

Since we won't be meeting up in the Highlands, I plan on spending one day in Liville Gorge instead. I may send you a PM for a few ideas

Your pic of the falls brings back really fond memories. I saw the falls for the first time back in 82 (18 years old), when I pedaled to them from Ft. Wayne, via the Smoky Mountains and the entire Blue Ridge Parkway. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

Sounds like you had a nice trip south!

Re: Thanks for the Ideas and Memories!

Mark, the only experience I have with the gorge is from hiking down into it from Linville Falls. I hope the thread you started gets you some good ideas. Next time I'm there, I'd like to do Hawksbill and Table Rock. Both look and sound like good summits.
