Ascended the south ridge and descended the gully, which is the better route. Contrary to what I expected, the ridge was a lot of loose garbage (lower section) while the gully was mysteriously both smooth and stable. A little chunky down low, but it steadily improves.
I brought a register to donate and left it on Little Mac, assuming there was already one on McCaleb. I was wrong.

Gulley Route
Climbed Little Mac before heading over to Mount McCaleb. It’s a cool peak with a very rugged north face. Too bad it gets overshadowed by its more well known neighbor. Here’s a write up and some photos.

Route Climbed: SW Ridge Date Climbed: December 18, 2005Very cold (0-10F) but sunny with just patchy snow the whole way. deepest snow on the approach road. Good , steep scramble.
