from Florence Nature Preserve
The Upper Hickory Nut Gorge TH on Rt 74A was a pretty busy parking area but it is an excellent park. Once you hike north through the park it brings you out into a dirt road that you can follow directly to the summit. One hour and forty five minutes to the top, with a wrecked camper not far from the steel forest in a meadow.

Nice hike
Nice hike. Look for an ATV trail after reaching the road. It cuts off 1 mile each way and avoids passing the private homes.
Vandals have removed the signs for the trailhead and nature preserve. Park at the sharp left bend in the road 0.4 miles after turning onto Kelly Hill road.

The OTHER Little Pisgah Mountain
This was an extremely nice hike, but I would not suggest climbing the peak via the slopes in the meadow. We did this and it was very steep and deceptively long. What we had thought was 200 feet of elevation gain turned out to be 500 feet of vertical gain.
