Lodner (3228m) summit view towards the Gfallwand (3175m) and beyond to the distant Ortler group

From left to right, the main nearby summits are the Zielspitze (3009m), Lahnbachspitz (3081m) and Gfallwand (3175m) to the southwest. From the latter, a long ridge stretches roughly in the direction of the Lodner, towards the northeast. Two noteworthy peaks on that ridge are the Blasiuszeiger (2837m) and Schwarze Wand (3065m), but unless you know where to look, from this direction they are almost impossible to make out. Much further back, behind and above the Gfallwand WNW ridge, are the big white glaciers of the southern parts of the Ortler group, including the summits of Palon de la Mare (3708m) and Cevedale (3778m).
