One can actually get a few bomber pieces at ones feet before committing to the summit mantle- I was able to get in a great yellow Alien & purple Link cam at my feet before mantling. While the pieces are solid, it should be noted that by the time the belayer were to catch you, you'll probably have decked & sustained some severe ankle damage. They would keep you from falling/rolling off the formation, however.
