Found in the Castle Rock summit register
Anyone found an older entry in a summit register? Comments[ Post a Comment ] | EricChu | Herbert Maeder, | |
Voted 10/10 | the Swiss mountain photographer, tells in his book "Gipfel und Grate" ("Summits and Ridges"), published in 1980, about a summit register on the Swiss peak named Vorder Selbsanft or Hauserhorn in the Glarus Alps with entries dating back as far as 1901!! The summit register - I have no idea if it still is up there, maybe they've replaced it by now, but apparently it was up there in the late seventies still - was one issued by the Karl Knecht & Cie. Edition in Bern in 1899! | | Posted Aug 7, 2010 3:17 pm |

Hasn't voted | And I thought the register I found on top of UN13,555 (Sangre de Cristo) was old at 1974!
This is a genuine piece of mountaineering history. | | Posted Sep 13, 2010 4:13 pm |
