Looking into deepest 'well'...

Looking into deepest 'well'...

Looking into deepest 'well' on the planet, which contains 300 meters deep Crveno Jezero (Red lake). No photo can give you an idea how fascinating this lake, near Imotski town, is. If there was a boat on the surface you would hardly see it. More info on Biokovo mountain page.

Re: Fantastic!

Thanks Klaus! Yes, you definitely have to see it! From the edge to the surface is over 200m and lake is around 300m deep, but that hasn't been confirmed yet, meaning it can be deeper. Standing at the edge and looking down to almost black water (deep blue when lit by sunlight) sends shivers down your back. It is really another miracle of karst.
