The trail and cross country route (when the trail fizzles out) runs through the meadow area directly below the peak in this shot. Also, a nice view of Little Onion reservoir can be seen.

Towards Beatys Butte!

Beatys butte is visible from everywhere in that country. I think thats Hawks Mountain also off in the haze.

You are right. When I clicked to highest resolution, I could tell Beatys Butte, even in the haze.

Yeah its funny, when I first started hiking out in this area I would always see Duffer Peak off to the south and wonder what that goliath of a mountain was and how tall it was.
