Loveland Pass:
Access from Boulder, CO:
Take 6 west from I-70.
Park at Loveland Pass summit.
Run:
ivelander and I hiked along the Continental Divide to ~12,360' and skied down to the hairpin turn at 11,240'. The snow at the top was dry and fluffy, but very sparse. About halfway down, we encountered icy conditions and lots of rocks.
Skied Elevation: ~1120'
Colorado Mines Peak:
Access from Boulder, CO:
Take 40 west from I-70.
Park on the east side of the road at Berthoud Pass summit.
Run:
ivelander and I skinned up to Colorado Mines Peak (12,497') and skied the northwest face along the ridge above Mines Slide Path. The snow up here was excellent; light and fluffy. The coverage was minimal, so we had to keep a keen eye for rocks. When the trees got too dense, we entered Mines Slide Path and skied down to 10,800'. The snow here was not sufficient to avoid hitting downed trees/rocks.
Skied Elevation: 1697'
Photos
Total Skied Elevation: ~2820
