Lower Black Box. Dec 23,2006

This is the Lower Black Box of the San Rafael River. It is a slot canyon that goes for nearly 5 miles with sheer canyon walls. This is a canyon with a high flash flood danger so it is best done at the the time of year with the lowest possible flow. In this picture we were messing around going cross country and found this side drainage, past my friend Roger the canyon drops straight down nearly 300 feet!
