Lower North Face - Mt Borah
|[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]|
Mike "frenching" on hard ice on the lower North Face of Mt Borah - October, 1976.
In 1975 BSU geologists Monte Wilson and Bruce Otto measured the thickness of the ice on the glacier and found it to vary from 60' at the toe to 210' at the firn line. By 1990 the glacier (complete with bergshrund and a little crevasse) was completely gone.
