| sort of successful... set out for Piegan-Pollock-Bishops Cap amidst fog and sleet. reached saddle between Pollock and Piegan two hours later; limited visibility. decided to bag Piegan while there; unfortunately, we found out our compass was broken on the summit and we had a tough time finding our way down. eventually ended up heading south/southeast off the summit, climbing down class III and some class IV gullies south and west of Piegan Glacier. eventually cliffed out several hundred feet above Siyeh Bend and Going-to-the-Sun Road; we traveresed south on a game trail until we could bushwhack safely down to the road. quite an adventure!!! | |
