Maidenhair Ferns

Maidenhair Ferns

Maidenhair Ferns (Adiantum capillus-veneris) photographed in Fern Canyon (North fork of Pine Creek)in Red Rocks, Nevada. These ferns require shady and wet habitats and are a pleasant surprise in the desert. They often grow in cracks of rock walls or on boulders and create nice "hanging gardens". They can be found near springs up to 6,500 feet.
