Main routes on Rodgers Peak from the east. The route in green is the one recommended in Roper's Climber's Guide to the High Sierra, and is a longer but technically easier alternative to the one I took (shown in red).

route choice

I followed the green route a few weeks ago. The descent on the SW side of the pass has very loose rock. The red route seems preferable and MUCH shorter.
