I made a trip to Maisan yesterday with some friends and found out that both summits are currently closed. Don't know that status of the East Summit but the West will be closed for the next two years as part of nature rehabilitation program. The Korean's routinely close different popular routes for 1 to 7 years to let nature rebuild itself.
The temple and the rock pagodas here are really interesting and there are other peaks with scenic overlooks. A really nice park overall.

Re: Both Summits ClosedI'm not surprised. Mt. Hallisan was closed when I was in Korea. Maisan is still an interesting place visit even without climbing the peaks.
