Switchbacks!

Climbed up from 27th street, kept on going into Malan's Basin, then descended via Waterfall Canyon. It was a great day!
Saw a 3' rattlesnake on the trail leading out of the Basin to Waterfall canyon, but it was just snoozing and seemed to be in a good mood.

Malans  Sucess!

Not really a peak, but one of my favorite winter destinations.

One of my favs  Sucess!

It's the best hike around the Ogden area if you want a great workout, awesome scenery, and have a couple hours to burn. Been up there at least 20 times in the last 10 years.

Malans Peak  Sucess!

I've done this hike numerous times. I'm usually good at keeping track of specific dates but I can't remember them all. This is actually a viewpoint on the west ridge of Mount Ogden. Malans Peak can be hiked year round and my favorite time is during winter. It's a great workout for people that live nearby. Routes that I like include Taylor Canyon, Waterfall Canyon, and the West Face. My friend Dennis has been to the summit over a thousand times.
