Maples and Hickories
The area had been timbered recently and so we can see the ridges. Not too hot in the October sun but would require some water in the summer to cross these areas. The Red Maple and Hickory are the tallest in this picture. We saw a herd of goats wending its way through the clearcut guarded by shepherd dogs-quite appropriate given the name of "mountain"
