Mark Iffrig leading up the...
Mark Iffrig leading up the "unavoidable Class 4 step" a couple hundred yards from the summit. Unavoidable is about right. There didn't seem to be an easier bypass that wouldn't require a whole lot of downclimbing. The step is also largely unprotectable. Fortunately, it's only about 20 feet high and the holds are good.
