Marmot at 8200'

This was the 4th marmot I've seen this year and was the at the lowest elevation I'd ever seen one, as this picture was taken on the Cub Lake trail in Moraine Park, 8200'. The previous lowest marmot I'd seen was at Cascade Falls, 8800'. I've always wondered why marmots don't venture into the trees more often, seems like thats where the food(tourists) is found.
