Not the ridge to go for a stroll...During our hike on Philadelphia Mountain, we saw and heard so many avalanches and slides on Mount Index that day, we knew a walk along that cornice would have been disasterous for any unaware hiker!!!

Re: Not the ridge to go for a stroll...That's right. It's hard to tell from this photo but that cornice must be overhanging by at least 50 feet.
